The PD Day Celebration in Israel was celebrated on Wednesday, 5 January 2011, at the Haifa Center for Law and Technology in Haifa University.

During the event, we discussed the meaning of PD Day and mentioned Ze'ev Jabotinsky (1880-1940) a renowned Israeli author, among others.

We also introduced some of the organizations that support open/free access in Israel, such as Creative Commons Israel, Wikipedia-Wikimedia Israel, Haifux - Linux Haifa and local initiatives of PD projects such as project Ben-Yehuda and "Zemereshet" - a project of PD songs in Hebrew.

The celebration was mentioned both in the local newspapers and radio.
